Shermaine Ang
Shermaine was called to the Singapore Bar in August 2020.
She has been handling a range of civil litigation cases, including commercial, tenancy, employment, personal injury, intellectual property, and building and construction related disputes. She has also been involved in criminal matters involving charges such as drink driving, rioting, criminal breach of trust and harassment.
Notable Cases
- Acting for a sports association in judicial review proceedings brought by an athlete in the Singapore High Court and Court of Appeal.
- Acting for a shipping company in an appeal before the Singapore Court of Appeal concerning the enforceability of contracts for the sale and delivery of non-existent goods.
- Assisting in proceedings initiated by a liquidator of an insolvent company against directors for breach of director's duties and conspiracy in the Singapore High Court.
- Acting for claimants to recover damages in personal injury and non-injury motor accident claims.
- Assisting in a trial involving a drug trafficking charge.
- Acting in a Magistrate's Appeal against sentence involving several charges of criminal breach of trust.
